The National Labour Federation activists have condemned the DHQ Hospital doctors for allegedly refusing to operate a poor NLF activist’s wife.Addressing a meeting here on Friday, NLF chairman Majeed Salik alleged that the doctors refused to conduct abdominal tumour operation of NLF activist Arif’s 60-year-old wife despite she was admitted to the hospital few days ago. He said that the MS of the hospital was also informed about the issue but to no avail. He said that doctors prefer to conduct operation of those patients who agree to admit to their private clinics. He warned that if an inquiry not initiated against responsible doctors till June 10, the NLF workers would lock the government offices in the city on June 11. When contacted, acting MS Dr Ghulam Hussain said that there was non-operation day when the woman patient was asked for operation and it was happened just due to misunderstanding.
