Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)21-06-2015:Some Rs 220 million still needed to complete on-going water supply mega project for citizens from Trimmu head works.Addressing a meeting held with representatives of citizens, the Public Health Engineering Department Executive Engineer said Rs 600 million had already been spent on the project that started in 2011.He said MNA Junaid Anwaar Chaudhry had requested Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to approve and release remaining funds for the water project.TMO Azhar Nabi Dewan and an organisation’s representatives Ghulam Muhammad Ghanjera and Arif Qazi also spoke.


Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)21-06-2015: The fourth annual labour conference Friday warned that if district administration and brick kiln owners did not implement the Punjab government notification regarding paying workers Rs 888 per 1000 bricks, they would take to the streets.Addressing the moot, labour leaders ex-district council member Ayub Anjum, Ms Rafia Ashfaq, Clement Kemey, Ms Kalara, Shamim Bibi, Agnus Bibi, Raut Masih, Akram Masih, Waseem Yousaf, Shumaila Javed and Atif Younis said workers were deprived of their right to free medical treatment, dowry grant for their daughters and other facilities.They condemned kiln owners for allegedly using their workers as bonded labour.
