Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)11-04-2015:.District Food Controller Mehr Naveed Ahmad Friday said the Food Department will procure 10,000 metric tons wheat from Toba, Kamalia and Pirmahal tehsils while Passco will purchase wheat from Gojra tehsil during the current season.He said the purchase would be started from April 25 and gunny bags would be delivered to growers from April 20.He said every grower would be given eight gunny bags per acre and Rs 7.50 will be given to the grower against supply of each 100 kg bag as delivery charges.He said wheat will be stored at open places if there is shortage of godowns. He said new rate for wheat purchase has been fixed at Rs 1,300 per 40 kg.

In the meantime robbers barged into the office and snatched Rs 950,000, a mobilephone and other valuables from him.

Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)11-04-2015:.Different contests were held on the Jashn-e-Baharan festival held on Thursday.  Cooking competition was held between women in industrial home and two girls of Gojra Amna Maqbool and Tehmina Jabbar got first and also Gojra’s Rafia Kausar and Amna Ibrahim secured second position.In the competition of healthy children 33 children took part and Afnan of Gojra, Zaeem of Pirmahal and Mevish of Toba got first, second and third positions.Judges for this competition included Family Health Clinic in charge Dr Zunaira Haleem and DDHO Dr Khizer Abbas. District population welfare officer Dr Ghufran Chopra was chief guest on the occasion.

Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)11-04-2015:.Two students were killed in a road accident near Sem Nullah Bridge on Wednesday.Waseem, Aleem and Atif were on their way to Gojra from Chak 281/JB by a motorcycle when their bike fell after colliding with a huge stone on Painsara-Gojra Road. As a result, all three bikers were injured and sustained head injuries. They were shifted to the THQ Hospital Gojra where Waseem and Aleem succumbed to injuries.

A seminar was also organised at the Zakat Office in which speakers urged the citizens to adopt precautionary measures to save themselves from dengue.
