Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)21-02-2015:Fifteen women were injured in a roof collapse at a Mehfil-e-Milad at Mohallah Gaushala on Friday.The Mehfil-e-Milad was under way at the residence of Malik Rafiq when a roof suddenly collapsed. As a result, 15 women, including three girls, were injured. The injured women were shifted to the DHQ Hospital.
Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)21-02-2015:Pirmahal police booked five people for occupying the land of a philanthropist on Friday.Fateh Muhammad of Lahore reported to police that Ghulam Fareed of Chak 662/3-GB and four others had allegedly occupied his 20 kanal land. He said that he had purchased the land to establish a seminary. Police have started investigation.
Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)21-02-2015:The Higher Education Department will give laptops to government school teachers, who are also students of MPhil and PhD classes of academic session 2012-13.According to a circular received by local education offices, teachers who are students of Allama Iqbal Open University, Virtual University, distance learning programme of any university or any private university will not be eligible to this scheme.The circular added that a four member committee comprising DCO, EDO (Education), Deputy Director (colleges) and district monitoring officer will verify the eligibility of teachers.
Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)21-02-2015:People staged a demonstration against the murder of a 70-year-old man here on Monday.The protesters blocked rail and road traffic for about two hours by placing the body of M Ishaq on a railway track. They were demanding registration of a murder case and arrest of the accused. Due to the protest, a non-stop train remained stopped for more than an hour. Talking to newsmen, the protesters said that Ishaq was stoned to death over a minor issue by four members of a family but the doctors with the connivance of the accused allegedly issued a medico legal certificate, showing that he had died of heart attack.
In the meantime, police officials reached there and held talks with the protesters. On assurance of justice, they ended their protest. Meanwhile, City police have registered a murder case against Faiz, his wife Nasreen, daughter Humaira and son Shan. Police are conducting raids to arrest them.
