on Tuesday at a basic health unit at Chak 759-GB on Tuesday.Meraj
Bibi told reporters that she was administering polio vaccine to
children when Unicef representative Waheed Murad came there and
attempted to take some vaccines from her stock. Meraj stopped him
saying she was answerable to the management for her stock of
vaccines. Upon this Murad allegedly beat her up.
Pirmahal Assistant Commissioner Hafiz Najeeb sent
Deputy District Health Officer Dr Shaukat to the BHU who recorded
statements of Meraj and Murad.

Near Pirmahal bypass road, seven men riding a car stopped them. The suspects tied up Nawaz and his helper, snatched a cash of Rs53,000, mobile phones and took away the tractor-trolley. |

MNA Riaz Fatyana has demanded early hearing of his election petition
against PML-N MNA Chaudhry Asadur Rehman.Addressing a press conference
on Tuesday, Fatyana said his opponent had got a stay order against
hearing of the petition from the Lahore High Court but under a recent
Supreme Court decision the stay was unlawful.
He said so far MNA Rehman had not even filed a reply to
his petition in the tribunal.He demanded that the Supreme Court take suo
motu notice of the delay in hearing of the petition and issuance of the
“unlawful” stay order by the high court.

Agriculture Minister Dr Farrukh Javed visited various schools here and
in Gojra on Tuesday to check security measures.He also held a meeting
with officials where District Coordination Officer Waqas Alam told him
that out of 1,208 schools, boundary walls of 923 had been raised while
work on the remaining was in progress.
He added that metal detectors had been provided to 818
schools while orders had been placed for purchase of detectors for the
remaining schools. MPA Qadeer Awan was also present.
