The strike of lecturers and other contract staff of government commerce colleges entered the 11th day in the district on Thursday.They boycotted classes and staged sit-ins for regularisation. Commerce Colleges Lecturers Association office-bearers Shahbaz Hussain, Abdul Rehman and Hafiz Abdul Sattar vowed to continue the strike till the acceptance of their demands. A brick kiln worker’s wife staged a sit-in at Malkanwala Chowk, Gojra, in protest against grabbing of her house by some influential people of Chak/307.Nabila Bibi, who staged the sit-in with her three children, told journalists that the accused had occupied her house a year ago and the Gojra Sadr police had registered a case against them. She said that later the police declared them innocent. She said that she would commit suicide outside Chief Minister’s House in Lahore if not provided justice.
