Toba Tek Singh.(www.apnapirmahal.com)24-01-2015:.A citizen of Toba Tek Singh has raised voice against the Pakistan International Airlines the alleged inconvenience he had to face during a journey due to its “negligence and deceitfulness”. In a complaint submitted to the aviation division secretary against PIA, Karamat Ali said that he and his wife travelled on Jan 21 by PK 340 flight from Karachi to Faisalabad. Addressing a press conference at the Press Club here, he added that the flight was scheduled to leave Karachi at 05:15 but after about three hours they were told that it has been delayed and will not depart at 09:00. Likewise, it was repeatedly delayed, he said.
The reason was declared the bad weather in Faisalabad, he said, and alleged that actual reason was the unavailability of an aircraft for the trip as per terminal operator of the PIA at Karachi.
The flight finally departed at 15:10 with airline promise to the passengers that if it lands at Lahore, they would be sent Faisalabad by buses. He added that the plane landed at Lahore but their luggage did not appear on the belt timely and there were just two junior staffers on duty and they showed their helplessness to arrange the buses.
He questioned why so many passengers were issued boarding cards if there was no aircraft available at Karachi. He said that on the direction of the aviation division secretary, PIA customer relations manager GR Pathan has informed him that investigation had been ordered into his allegations.Kiln workers for end to bonded labour: Speakers at a convention held on Friday claimed that over 20,000 kiln workers in the district were not being paid the government-fixed wages of Rs 888 per 1,000 bricks, and also flayed government’s ineffective role to end bonded labour.
